INDIA. Uttar Pradesh state. City of Mussoorie. 1988. Hill stations were an invention of the mid Victorian British, longing for the misty cool of home. Most famous were Darjeeling and Simla, but smaller retreats like this one, still provide cozy hotels and bracing air to invigorate lethargic visitors.
